About me
Hello! My name is Adam Romig. I am a 27 year old geek of a guy living in a quaint brick obsessed suburb north of Dayton, Ohio. I’m happily married to Mandy, a wonderful woman who keeps our family sane and on track. I’m also a proud father of four children: Jacob, 8; Benjamin, 7; Abigail, 4; and 1 year old Nicholas. I am currently enrolled at the University of Toledo, back into action on obtaining my Associates Degree in Programming and Software Development. I am a systems engineer at a global information monolith located in Miamisburg. Along with supporting our internal clients with their software support & logistics, I am also charged with maintaining and developing our department web site & asset management system.
I have self-studied in web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, ASP, PHP, and C#. I know the fundamental ins and outs of the relational database systems such as MS SQL & mySQL. Eager to learn more, I am delving into the world of graphic art & manipulation with Adobe PhotoShop and Macromedia Fireworks. I’m a Virgo and it shows in my compulsively structured code and indenting habits. It is my hope that I can build considerable experience and obtain a position as a web designer or developer.
Aside from working & coding, I love to spend time with my family. They are an invaluable joy to me and an adventure all in themselves. They seem to like me as well, so there’s a plus!
About penguin-xing.no-ip.org
My personal web site has had many names and designs over the years. Before Penguin X-ing, this site was named kirby.homelinux.net. This was due to my, at the time, unimaginativeness: my server named kirby which is running linux. I thought I would change the name of the site to a more pleasant and witty expression of my interests. My server, Kirby, is virtually no more as I’ve moved hosting to my dad’s server as he’s to become my children’s educational workstation. Alas, poor Kirby, I knew him well.
I do try to keep my sites as accessible as possible, with resizable font sizes, relative position/size of content areas, and cross-browser compatibility. I also make it a point to use proper grammar without being too wordy.
Feedback
Please let me know if I run into any problems or issues with viewing this web site. I’m always looking at ways to improve the user experience. This goes for any quality feedback as well. All in all, though, enjoy your visit and don’t mind the penguins. Somebody must have left the refridgerator door open again.
