Jury Duty & Bowling
Jury Duty
In the mail yesterday, I received a summons to serve as a juror at the county court each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the entire month of March. Of course, I’ll call the previous night to see if I need to come in but still. Wow. I’m going to be so productive at work next month. There’s a couple of bright sides, though. 1.) The county court that I am reporting to is in Huber Heights so at least I don’t have to drive to downtown Dayton. 2.) My employer will still pay me for the days I’m out for this. I’ll try to look at this in a positive light. I may get to experience our legal & justice system first-hand without being one of the affected parties. I know it won’t be anything like Law & Order but I might find it interesting even if there’s a lot of waiting and mind numbing bureaucracy.
Perfect Game
I was bowling most of the evening on the Wii, trying to up my skill level. I did manage to go Pro and then I just kept going. I had gotten a game of 218 before Nicky woke up so I was thinking that’d be the best I could do, especially since I had to rock him to sleep again. As I was holding him, I decided to play again. Frame 1: Strike. Hm. Frame 2: Strike. Hm. Frame 3: Strike: Hm! Frame 4: Strike. WTF. I just kept going and going. I’m not sure how I managed to pull that off with Nicky drooling on me but dang, I did it. I don’t think I could ever do that in real life. Just semi-real life.
