When I started back into college in 2004, I took a Programming Design & Logic class. The teacher was something else - the bad kind. You may have heard me rant about her before. A friend of mine was in the same class, same experience. One of our interns at work had her. Ditto. Now I’ve found RateMyProfessors.com. We are not alone.

I was not at all pleased with this class! I’ve been working as a software developer already for a number of years and decided to take a few classes to formalize my education and to perhaps help me streamline my process a bit. She doesn’t know when to admit she’s wrong. I demonstrated I was correct through working code and she ignored it entirely!

She is not only a horrible teacher, but also has a horrible attitude. Everything has to be her way or no way. I actually PROVED something could be done differently and she ignored me from that point forward. Book conflicts with her ’style’. She thinks she’s God’s gift to programming. Won’t give you a chance to prove yourself right. Avoid her.

Late to class - get a zero. But, if you spend the time, study, and do the work you see the rewards. Great teacher. Really got me interested in programming. Don’t like her personally, just as a teacher. She explains everything clearly, if you’re paying attention. If not, you’ll be lost. She will NOT repeat herself. If you take her, STUDY!!!!

THIS LADY ALMOST SINGLE HANDEDLY MADE ME DROP OUT OF COLLEGE. I DONT’T EVEN LIKE COMPUTERS ANYMORE BECAUSE OF HER AND TO THIS DAY I AM STILL THINKING ABOUT CHANGING MY MAJOR BECAUSE OF THIS LADY. SHE MAKES PROGRAMMING IMPOSSIBLE TO LEARN.

It is true that she isn’t particularly helpful and doesn’t appreciate questions. I couldn’t decide however whether the unhelpfulness was some sort of strategy to make our learning deeper by requiring that we use our brains to figure things out…or laziness on her part.

She is a horrible shell of a person. Nowhere in her lectures or homework did she ever help me learn the material. She insults people and considers herself to be a god. Do not take her, and if she’s the only teacher available, change your major. She is the worst professor I have ever had in my life.

Ms. D****y is a horrible teacher. She insults students as well as other professors. She does not allow you to ask questions during class nor is she helpful in any way possible. I am an adult student this being my second degree and I have never had a teacher as bad as Ms. D****y.

Asked for hlep was told to read the book. Read the book still didn’t understand it and was told that she coldn’t help me. JUST NO. She does not understand that there is more than one way to do something. You are not allowed to print your homework out before class and if you do she will throw it away. If the homework isn’t stapled she wont take it. Just a bad teacher all around. JUST NO.

I think most of the negative comments are not accurate. She demands a high quality of work to be turned in, and students to give 100%. I think most people are spoiled by the low standards set by most community college instructors.

If you want to hate your life for the 75 minutes you’re in this class, then by all means, take a class with her. Worst teacher ever. She takes herself more seriously than the class and everything has to be her way. Also, she thinks she is God’s gift to programming. Which is utterly false.

Horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible. It doesn’t matter how you do something, if it’s not her way, points taken off. Doesn’t matter if your code works, if it’s not EXACTLY how she wants it, points taken off. Avoid at all costs if possible, especially if you want a chance at ENJOYING programming.

The kind of professor who makes you want to drop out of college.. not because she’s hard, just because she has such a bad attitude. She has a confusing teaching style and she runs her class like a nazi camp. Avoid her if you want to enjoy learning.

Very mean, cold, stern. Not helpful or interactive. I got the feeling she was absolutely full of herself. She will nail you if you’re a couple minutes late to class, or if you have to print out your code in class. She is snide, strict, and unreasonable.

Like every intro-computer, it is a very easy class to take. However, if you are one minute late to class……. You loose a point off of your grade. Teachers this should teach in Jr. High, not College.

*sigh* I’m taking a class this fall that she usually teaches. I hope she’s not the instructor or I may have to drop the class.
